Today I had to repost this chart from Fusion Capital. It’s important to remind oneself of this from time to time.
As an investor, and I’d say in general, your mind is essentially under constant attack. If you can recognize when and how, put fundamentals and opinion aside on their own and compare that with some basic price action, markets are less difficult to navigate.
It’s almost like they do this on purpose. Why would a bank say, do that? Don’t they want to look smart and be correct? I remind you of 2007 when Goldman Sachs was shorting (profiting from the decline) mortgage securities that they were at the same time selling to the public.
It’s a repetitive cycle that happens again and again. This is why any fundamental story has to be confirmed by the chart.
